We need help to re-build and re-develop the Ampthill home to provide:

• a twenty-six bed residential care and nursing home
• two new en-suite respite rooms

Features of this new development will be:

Larger bedrooms with their own bathroom and patio

There will be plenty of space for armchairs so people can enjoy company in their own room. Residents will now be able to easily close the door to their room if they want privacy.

Each person will have their own ensuite bathroom. All bedrooms will be away from the public spaces and have a small patio for the resident to arrange as they wish.

Upgraded communal areas

The newly developed home will contain two newly-equipped kitchens and dining rooms, physiotherapy room and snoezelen (sensory room), and an upgraded activities room with user-friendly IT equipment.

Respite bedrooms

Specially adapted rooms for people with disabilities, allowing for accommodation breaks. This might, as an example, provide a restful break from daily routine, for the person and their carers, so that all can return to each other relaxed and refreshed.
