You can make a difference
Why we need to raise £515,000
Leonard Cheshire Disability was able to identify a substantial part of the £2.5m capital needed and therefore to start the building work in Spring 2007. However, in order to provide the space and facilities that add up to a truly supportive and life-enhancing living environment, we urgently need to raise a further £515,000 to complete the project.
This will ensure the best possible facilities for the people of Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.
Making a difference
The new environment at Ampthill will allow the residents to live with an increased dignity and independence, and your help will be appreciated every day by the twenty-eight permanent residents and the many who will enjoy short breaks at the Home each year.
Here are a few examples of what your support could achieve:
Respite unit – £85,000
There will be two high quality en-suite respite care bedrooms for people who normally live in their own home.
One spacious bedroom with its own shower room – £40,000
Each person will have a large room with space for living and sleeping, a private shower room and under floor heating.
Kitchen equipment – £15,000
Special therapeutic baths and hoists – £10,000
Equipment to help people get out of bed – £1,500
We want to provide discreet, flexible hoists to help people get out of bed and into the bathroom.
Bedroom furniture or kitchen equipment – £750
